Percale is made with a basket weave, which interlaces threads at a ratio of 1 to1; one yarn over, one yarn under. It is constructed using a high quality weave with a thread count of 200 or more. The appearance is flat with a matte to semi-matte look. The finer the yarn and higher the thread count the more natural lustre you will see in the fabric.
Thread Count explained
Thread count refers to the number of threads woven per inch. In general; the higher the thread count, the more denser and softer to the touch a fabric becomes, provided that high-quality cotton and single-ply thread is used. Since we follow these high standards, our 300 thread count fabrics are already of a good quality and our 400 or 500 TC will be noticeably softer and slightly heavier.

About our cotton Percale
Percale is woven in a basket weave pattern. This results in a high-quality weave with a thread count of 200 or more, giving the fabric a flat, smooth appearance with a matte to semi-matte finish. As the yarn used in percale becomes finer and the thread count higher, the fabric's natural luster and softness increase. Additionally, percale is known for its excellent breathability, which ensures that the fabric stays cool and comfortable even in warm weather.
